Daytime television newcomer Eric Winter portrays Rex, a young man who has traveled a great distance to Salem, on NBC's number one daytime drama, Days of our Lives.
Eric stands 6' 1" and has dark blonde hair and blue eyes. He celebrates his birthday on July 17th and was born in La Mirada, California, Eric spent most of his childhood in nearby La Puente. An only child, Eric attended Los Altos High School in Hacienda Heights, where he excelled in football and volleyball. A stellar high school football career provided Eric with the opportunity to compete in the All Star Hall of Fame Game as a defensive lineman.
Eric attended UCLA, graduating with a degree in psychology. While in college, and after shedding approximately thirty pounds of football weight, a girlfriend suggested to Eric that he pursue work as a model to help pay the bills. He soon landed an agent and found himself juggling schoolwork and acting workshops with prestigious modeling assignments, many of which took him all over the world.
Eric's most high-profile print campaign was for Tommy Hilfiger. Eric has appeared in numerous national commercials, including campaigns for 7-UP and Mitsubishi.
Prior to landing the role of Rex on Days of our Lives, Eric guest-starred in several television shows, including Profiler, The Parkers and The Andy Dick Show.
In his free time, Eric enjoys playing basketball, hiking, snowboarding, and going to the movies; The Breakfast Club is his all time favorite film. He remains close to his father Wayne, who owns an Investigative Company, and his mother Gwen, who runs a theatrical fabric business.
On January 6, 2003 Eric Winter appeared on the NBC talk show "The Other Half" Eric Stated that he was has been married for a year and a half (showed off his ring) to a very wonderful girl and is very happy!
A little about Rex:
Rex a young teen who came to Salem with his twin sister Cassie in a spaceship. Shawn and Belle were on the Lookout Point when the spaceship arrived, it slowly opened and revealed two almost naked human-looking bodies.And that's not all-these bodies had strange lights flashing on their wrists!Shawn and Belle couldn't believe their eyes.Had they stumbled upon aliens? Belle who did think that they were aliens. The teens carefully approached them and were startled to find them lifeless.Determined to save them,Shawn and Belle did CPR on them. When the "aliens" came back to life the "girl" felt a strong attraction to Shawn and the "boy" felt a strong attraction to Belle. Once the two were breathing again,Shawn and Belle were anxious to find out more about these creatures.Yet,before they could question any further,the "aliens" ran away. When they told there parent about the "aliens" they didn't believe it, but the next day when they went back to the Lookout Point they found the area sealed off by the government.One of the government agents interrogated them,but the two decided not to give the whole story.
They decided to try to find the aliens and help them. When they finally did find the aliens, Shawn and Belle brought them back to the Brady's garage, and became conviced that the aliens were really the legendary Gemini Twins, since they landed on Earth during the Gemini meteor showers. Belle and Shawn named the twins Rex and Cassie. It tured out, Cassie and Rex were not aliens. They were actually humans, with genetically engineered DNA. That's not all, the blue key which John stole from Tony was the key that seemed to reveal their identity. John discovered that the key unlocked the twins' bracelets, underneath each bracelet was a tattoo of a wing. John put them together, and they formed a Phoenix! Meanwhile, Shawn and Belle worried about the fate of the twins. Belle was greatly relieved when Marlena decided to place Cassie and Rex under her care. Recently Tony Dimera has gotten custidy over the twins. So Rex and Cassie now live at the Dimera mansion. They are going to college too. Rex's is Shawn's new room-mate, and Cassie is Belle's new room-mate. (Seems to me slowly Rex is getting over Belle, and is now taking love intereste in Mimi.)
